The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company had a vision for growth yet needed a clear plan and strategy to continue to build on its powerful brand presence in the marketplace. The organization had previously addressed planning at a tactical level, and company-wide programs and initiatives were not tied to an overall strategic plan.


We instituted a comprehensive strategic planning process that built on the core values the company is known for and aligned all parts of the organization around business and brand goals. We built a disciplined approach to developing a global strategic plan that identified the greatest growth opportunities. Our process included incorporating the voice of corporate, regional and property stakeholders to identify the major forces of change in the marketplace and within the organization. This approach enabled the company to crystallize its vision, define major strategic areas of focus and objectives, and identify near-term priorities to ensure momentum toward achieving their strategic goals.
